PPG (Virtual) Minutes March 2020

I am attaching Draft Terms of Reference, to be adjusted as we join with the other two practices next month, for you to adjust think about and amend at the next meeting. they have been given to me by another practice.

The Meeting was cancelled to safeguard PPG members staff and patients. Apologies to all and thank you for responding so quickly to emails and text messages.

 Minutes of previous meeting

Transport to new site

Thanks to Councillor Liz Clements who has put me in touch with Adam Hawksworth at National Express and to Jen Weigham from the CCG who put me in touch with Mike Lydon Head of Estates who is the person who will be responsible from the health service viewpoint. I have not yet had any replies.

I was going to ask for suggestions from the meeting as to how we can move forward on this online petition, something at the surgery or something in a Newsletter.  I have contacted Bournville Gardens to see if they would be interested in joining forces with us requesting a link from there to Cotteridge. The need for a bus link will apply both to patients and to staff who work at Granton.  Any ideas are welcome

I have also emailed Bournville Gardens asking if we could hold an AGM there in October or November.  Again, all of this is on hold due to the ongoing situation regarding the spread of Coronavirus.

 Practice Update

At this stage updates about the move are not available and things possibly may change if contractors also become infected or need to self isolate.

Update from the PPG Forum meeting in January

Attached are PowerPoints of the

Men’s Health Presentation and Diabetic Eye screening.

the next meeting at the end of March has been cancelled.

Birmingham and Solihull Health App

We were due to have a speaker regarding this App; Michelle could not come because of the postponement of the meeting but some of which is not applicable as one cannot now ask for appointments through this App. This app can be used to order repeat prescriptions from your chosen pharmacist.

Merging PPG Groups

I spoke to Daniel at Bunbury Road Surgery, who is responsible for their PPG in December. We agreed to speak after the March meeting regarding merging and inviting their PPG to our May meeting.

It seems at this stage difficult to create a relevant Newsletter as it can only be distributed by email rather than leaving copies at Granton. Any other thoughts Please let me know. The Facebook Page and Granton website will be the places to look for any changes or updates.

We must wish all of the staff at Granton, our best wishes as they do their best, in the light of this unknown threat to our wellbeing.

Hopefully you all got the text message regarding no longer conducting initial face to face GP appointments.

May we all remain as healthy as we can be.

Next Meeting ………To be arranged

Kind Regards,

Ann Ellis
